Our new addition

A few months ago, we did an unintentional swap with Joe's ex. We were bringing Joe's cat simon over there to live. He had been peeing in our house daily for a long time and I couldn't deal with it. We are not allowed to have outdoor cats at our complex, so Jackie said that he could live there. So we brought him over, and she had just gotten a kitten. The kitten was a little rambunctiious and attacked Josh during his sleep, and he really didn't like the kitten. So Jackie asked us if we would take her. We figured, sure, what the heck.

The kitten was/is awesome...she is playful... and very lovey dovey. Yes she attacks everything and knocks everything not on the floor, onto the floor. But we don't mind that too much. Unfortunately, she came to us with fleas. We have been trying to get rid of them for a month...but the little freaks wont go away. (Which is why the kitten's name is bug)

Here are some pictures of the kitten, and one or two new ones of Josh for good measure.

Shes tiny still in these two

She got big fast

Josh with no hair... pouting...hehe

Gooooo Yankees

So, 4 games into the 5 game set, and the Yankees are sitting pretty. I went into this saying Id be ok with 2/5 and happy with 3/5.. NEVER did I think we would win the first for. This is beautiful. Even though my eyes are teary and I have the brain pain from being up way past my bed time last night, I am a happy girl. Go Yanks!

Now, on to my intended topic. Last month I was in a production of Oliver with the spotlight players. It was a great step back into theater. I love singing. Acting and dancing are alright, but I just love singing on stage. Im a show off, what can I say.

It kept me a little to busy for just an ensemble part, but I met a lot of fun people, and it gave me some desire to get back into singing again, and to work on my craft. And it also gave me the opportunity to photograph some absolutely adorable munchkins... Take a look :

Strike a Pose

Oh, there are more...many more...You can browse the entire set here.

Cross stitching and me.

I first started doing cross stitching about 2 years ago. My aunt Sue always did xstitch, and I liked all the pretty things she could make. I was always into crafts, and I remember going into a store and seeing a neat kit, so I decided to give it a shot. I did the project relatively quickly, and my mom got it framed for me. Here is the finished product ( pic isnt great, the flash killed it, but the pics without the flash were worse)

It came out decent for a first try. I think I may have gotten a little in over my head with the second project, but I liked the theme of the first, so I tried to stick with it. I put down the project for almost a year after getting it almost half way complete. Now Im working pretty fast, and Ive chosen a bunch of projects to do for xmas presents this year. Hopefully I wont do what I often do, and abandom them after a month. This is an especially possible situation since I am also working on my first quilt (will talk about that crazyness another time). Here is my current progress on this second attempt.

As you may be able to tell, I screwed up and the stitching is going the opposite way it was supposed to on the fabric. Hopefully I didnt mark up the chart too much to be able to try this one again at a later date. I learned too late to photocopy my charts so I can save them for later... but oh well, I will from now on!

Well, time for my voice lessons, so I shall publish this short post, and hope to publish a new one soon!

Im horribly inconsistant

I know this. Thats why I start a blog, work on it consistantly for a month. Then ignore it for another six months.

Well, I have a ton going on now, and its not all completely boring. So maybe I should try to get some of it down in print so that I have a chance of remembering anything when im 60 (especially considering I often have trouble remember five minutes ago).

My interest in cross stitch has been renewed. I picked up my nice butterly scroll thing and Im about 2/3 done with it. Enjoying that so I decided that I would do some small cross stitch projects as xmas gifts this year, and figured I should get started now. So I got to do some shopping WOHOOOOO... and while shopping I realized that the only craft store in my area has the crappiest cross stitch section in the world.

I picked up some more black thread so I can get back to my quilt project also...that has been set aside for months due to my forgetfulness. So, with vaca coming up in a week, maybe I can get myself back into a groove with my crafts....gotta love em. Will post pics eventually.... the house computer died recently and it took weeks to get paintshop pro back on the machine.... so havent uploaded anything in a while... got lots of stuff to talk about... will try to do it in an organized fashion:)

The internets seem screwy today.

Is it me? Even as I type this entry on my blog thingamabob, the page is all screwed up. [puts on tin foil hat] Maybe it's the NSA installing internet taps or something.

I went to Barnes and Noble yesterday to pick up the next two books in the "Crown of Stars" series by Kate Elliot. As I was going up the escalator I noticed there was a mini film crew doing a piece on Anne Coulter's book. God what a whacko that woman is. I would have loved to be intervied for that would have been even better if I was wearing my shirt with one of her rediculous quotes on it.

Anyway, while I was there, I felt myself being sucked into the section with journals. I love journals. Unfortunately I never write in them for more than a month...then they just go away... Kinda the way my blog did for a while...*whoops* .. But I cant help but be drawn to them...Especially some of these nice old style soft leather bound ones. Mmmm I want me some of those.

I actually found myself laying awake in bed last night daydreaming about one of the things I would do if I hit the lotto, have a huge library in my house... I was actually daydreaming about buying tons of books and journals and writing my own software to catalog them and keep track of who in the family read what and storing comments on them and stuff. I AM SUCH A DORK!!!!! ... I want to win the lotto so I can expand on my dweebieness. Yes, of course Id want some non dorky stuff, like a nice pool in my yard, motorcycles, and endless vacations...but I was fantasizing about the BOOKS people... the books.

Well...if you dont know me, that will tell you a lot about me. Sad huh?

This new schedule is killing me.

Since we(my job) moved to Jersey City, and I now have to take the PATH in addition to NJ Transit, I had to change my hours. I work 730 - 330 which means I have to get up at 5:45 now... This is just NOOOTTTTTT workin for me. Even when I get my butt in bed by 1030 I cant fall asleep till around midnight... and Im a girly who loves her sleep, so less than six hours just 'aint cuttin it'.

I guess it doesnt help that I lead a relatively sedentary life style and I just started to get back into theater. I was initially told that rehearsals would be one weekend day and 2-3 week day days... turns out I have rehearsals saturday sunday monday tuesday wednesday... Oh well... gonna have to deal, really wanna get back into it. And maybe next time Ill get more than an ensemble part. (There is talent in this theater troupe, I just dont know if they know how to sing any way but pretty.... not all songs are meant to just sound pretty...especially not in "Oliver")

Once Joe is back to work (just had his cornea replaced a month ago) Im hoping maybe we can get into a pool league...we really need some kind of activity together...we dont do anything.

I also want to start my crafts again... I have an abandoned cross stich I want to get back into , and a quilt Id like to do before next winter!(need some supplies for both projects, kinda broke so it will have to wait a bitttttt longer...)

Jobs going ok, I just 'celebrated' my one year aniversary here. I plan on waiting a month or so and then asking for a hefty raise...that would just make my decade...

If I can wrangle that raise I figure Ill go another year just plodding along, and then hopefully start enrolling in some graduate courses at a college in jersey city... start working on that masters in education... Isnt it crazy that a person who really wants to teach cant because she cant afford the pay cut??!?!?!?

We have a new additions. Simon was sent over to Joes ex's house so he can live happily as an out door cat (and not pee on my carpet), and she handed over her kitten (because it was terrorizing them in their sleep). They called the kitten Avalon, but I was just not having that. We ended up calling her Kamakazi because she is a Lunatic ( couldnt call her that since its the others cats name). Unfortunately, she had some stomach issues the first week, so I have a feeling she will answer to many names eventually. Including : Kami, Kazi, Leaky Ass, Leaky Butt, Stinky and..."Oh my god you stink".

Joes computer is kaput, so untill I bring the memory card reader into work, there will be no pictures... Got some good ones too...

Ok, well, I suppose I should do some work! ...

Yay! I sold my first thing on Ebay!

That was a good experience! I had a SideKick II from T-Mobile. It's actually a good phone. I just had no need for the data services anymore, so it didn't make sense for me to keep such a large phone just for making phone calls. It was about a year old (I think, could have been two) and it was in really good shape. Less than normal wear and tear. And I sold it for $197.50 !!! I couldn't believe it. I mean, new, its about 350, but with all the rebates out there you could probably get it for less than $197.50. When I got it, it was free after rebates!

So I dunno, unless these bidders didn't want to be tied to a contract, I don't see why they would pay that much. Although, it is possible that since its an older phone now, that amount of rebates are no longer available.

Besides that, this weekend was pretty uneventful. Bought "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe". Liked it, but deffinitely not for small children. I'm glad we watched it without Josh before showing it to him, because I don't think its for youngsters at all. No gore, but plenty of death, and violent death at that.

Got Josh a haircut this weekend. If you have ever seen a 4 year old get a haircut, you know what it was like. Oh...My...God... you would have though that she was cutting off his skin instead of his hair he was freaking out so much. But the gal who cut his hair was good. She was fast and it looked good enough for us ehehe.. Deffinitely cant expect perfection when the kids shoulders are glued to his ears and he keeps tilting his head to one side, all while sitting on his fathers lap because he wont sit in the chair.

But, compared to other children, he was actually really good, so we bribed him with a toy. We went to Toys R Us and to my happy surpise, he pointed to a superman toy on the clearence rack. I got away with only spending 10 bucks on the bribe toy. Unfortunately, when you flip a particular switch on the toy supermans cape moves and it scares the crap out of the we kept that switch off.

Will have pictures of his handsomeness next time he comes over.

For My Fellow Bush Haters

Harry Taylor is my new hero. He was at some event that Bush held in North Carolina. He stood up and he spoke his mind. He is already a major hit in the blogosphere. I will post a few links for you, because they will do him more justice.

First, a video, via Crooks and Liars (great site)

Next, a site dedicated to thanking harry, created by a daily kos person. Please, drop by and leave a note if you feel so inclined.

A Daily Kos dairy from clone12, depicting and excellent photo comparison between Harry Taylor and a Norman Rockwell painting

And another dkos diary, this one by jhwygirl, after she had spoke on the phone with Mr. Taylor.

I know my viewing is limited... but those of you who do read this (thats you mom and dad)... check out the links please :).

Oh...and just recieved from my brother, for your viewing pleasure, cats.
